White Fillings

Recent technological developments such as bonding and dental adhesives have made white and tooth-coloured fillings stronger and longer-lasting.

Today, the majority of small and medium fillings can be done with these more aesthetically pleasing materials. We use white dental ‘composite’ or porcelain materials which are strong, long-lasting, mercury and BPA-free. These are available in a range of shades to match your tooth as closely as possible. Your dentist will discuss your options and advise you on which material is most appropriate for your filling during your consultation.

Placing a white composite filling is a relatively simple treatment to perform, involving many stages to get outstanding lifetime and aesthetics. This can include placing layers of different shades of composite material as we build up a tooth to give the most natural aesthetics possible.

Yes. Many patients choose to replace their amalgam fillings with tooth-coloured composite fillings. Composite fillings provide the same support as a traditional filling while offering a much more natural-looking finish that can help enhance your smile.
